Sunshine Mini Market Millie's Cafe Marin Motorsports Honda Motorcycles Guido's The Monk's Inn, The West End Grill, and a couple other names ? (where Arrivederci is) and another Italian where Hana or Maria Manso/Scopazzi's is, I forgot momentarily.
I'm actually remembering two butcher shops within a block from each other down there. One of which was in that spot, and I'm not sure which one it was...West End Market or Del Reeno Meats. When I was in my early 20's, and living on Jessup St., I could always count on the the butcher-dudes to happily dispense meat knowledge. "How long should I leave that leg 'o lamb on the weber?" "Don't put sugary stuff in your marinades". Stuff like that, that I still remember and call upon. Next door to A Drummer's Trad. old spot was the Rice Table (RIP). New guys moving in right now.
I think you mean that they closed their location in the old butcher shop at 4th and Ida. I'm pretty sure they are still at their newer location at 2nd and A Sts. FYI
PS, Anyone remember the name of the butcher shop ? All I remember is the sign "Fresh Crabs Today"
I just read in the paper that A Drummer's Traditon closed in San Rafael. It was a little drum shop just down from Bananas, owned by Marin native Rob Bowler. He graduated from MC a year before me. I used to take my oldest son there for drum lessons. I haven't been there in year, but I didn't know they had closed! Does anyone know what happened?
