Jason, I don't have that yearbook or know where to find it. (It was from around 1964 or 65) but I do have Tam High 1970, 71, and 72 if you ever need them. (I would love to see 1969, the one I don't have).
I also long ago saw a Drake High one with both Fred Grange (Grange Debris Box/and big land owner) and Perry Butler (Perry's/Butler's Shelter Bay and Perry's Downtown and Union St San Francisco in the same book.
In fact, those two guys would be good interviews !
Jason, You're on a roll. Another good one. Keep up the "favorite restaurants of the old days" question.
I vote for Bill Champlin as your next score. I once saw an old Tam High yearbook with a picture of both George Duke and Bill Champlin in the same hs band photo. Really cool.
Your wish is my command. :) Interviewed him today. Fabulous guy. Will take a while to get it all transcribed and posted but it will happen. Working on a number of interviews at once. That's for the kind words!
If you've got a scanner and a copy of that high school yearbook picture, by all means send it in!
Good catch, Rich. I think Huey and I overlooked the video for "Power of Love" during his interview. You're right -- it was shot at Uncle Charlie's in Corte Madera.
What do you remember about the video shoot? How long was it? Did the band just play that one song all night or did they play other music?
Also, what do you remember about Uncle Charlie's in general? Who else do you remember seeing play there? How did that club compare to others in the county in your opinion?
Great interview, I remember seeing Huey & The News shoot a video at Uncle Charlie's in the 80's, I think it had something to do with 'Back To The Future'. I loved Hugh's story about the woman flipping him off in traffic, kinda sums up a lot of Marinites these days.
Thanks again Jason for another great interview with Huey. I especially love the last sentence " Marin was the best place to grow up on the planet " and am proud to have been a part of the action. Also I have a request for Huey for a tune he used to sing when he was with Clover " Cook It On Up " I have never seen a recording of that classic soul song. Also I used to have a Clover sticker on the back of my Datsun wagon that I got from Mitch Howie, and I was wondering if anyone out there has a a copy.

Check out the new interview with Huey Lewis located in the "People" section. If you grew up in Mill Valley you may especially enjoy reading about the old days.
