A respected journalist mentioned it in the Pacific Sun this week. I think it was a junior high school where the Jewish compound is now at the end of Blackfield Drive but I don't remember it ever being open.
I recall pulling over and talking in the parking lot circa '78-'82 and it being brand new but not operating.
Was it ever ?
Two more odd ones. The newest school in the county is probably the one at 50 El Camino Dr. in east Corte Madera. It was oddly in the Tiburon school district. (I don't think that was good) I doubt it was open long. Anyone know ?
Also John MacPhail school on E. Vendola Dr., was out at the far end of the Santa Venetia flats. It's still there with that classic (?!?) corridor look. With two other schools on N. San Pedro Rd. It seems odd. Anyone know the years it was open ? Of course, even stranger was that shopping center at Adrian Wy & La Brea facing away from the main road. I don't know why they though that neighborhood could support a supermarket, drugs, and whatever else, Ice cream ?
