Shortly after moving to Marin in 1973, as a 9 year old, my mom took me to Woodlands restaurant. It was the first time I remember ever seeing money being left on tables. As she was at the counter paying the bill, I thought I would be "entrepreneurial" and "clean off" of few of the tables by the door. Excited about my new bounty and showing it off to my mom as we reached the car, I wondered why people would be so careless. I learned a lesson that day!
