Do any long time local Bostin residents remember the old Greyhound commute run from Bolinas to San Francisco up until around 1970. I never rode on it but my parents did when we lived in Stinson Beach in the 60's. That was when I was just a pup and not interested in working, but I remember seeing and hearing the engine and the stories about the commute run that left Bo at 6:30 am and returned at around 6:30 pm. Sam was the driver, he had a Kush job, although he had to start early. He was employed by the Greyhound bus lines and drove their special small mountain bus faithfully every day for many years, never letting anybody down. He would drive the bus to San Francisco in the morning, park it and go to the bars and drink and gamble all day, and drive back over the mountain to Bo. Often times he was heavily schwaqued on booze, but never had an accident. He got paid for the whole day, unlike the GGBHATD bus drivers who are forced to work in the morning, then are laid off for a few hours to twiddle their thumbs, and then return to work for the evening commute runs. No drug or alch testing back then, it would have been a damper on the operations of the day.
