Back in my early days at Larkspur-Corte Madera School, probably in the first or second grade 1952-54 or so, Cummins was the Superintendent of the L-CM School District, and one day he was on a Grand Tour and popped into our classroom. We were all properly awed. This was right around the time Neil Cummins School opened (after which a whole bunch of the kids I'd known the year before suddenly weren't there anymore). How he managed to get his name on the school while he was still alive and kicking, I don't know. Researching him online is almost impossible because practically every hit comes up with the school.
Someone recently asked me if I know anything about Mr. Neil Cummins, the namesake of the Corte Madera elementary school. I don't but thought I'd throw it out there.
Have any memories? Photos? Any biographical information at all?
