Historicaerials.com is a pretty cool website. It's like google maps but it lets you do something that's very helpful: slide or dissolve between photos from 1946, 1987, 2002, and 2005.
2. in the upper left hand corner of the photo find the box that says "compare (off)"
3. Click on that box and select slide or dissolve.
4. After the page reloads, which may take a few seconds, move the slider tab that runs horizontally across the image just below the "compare(off)" menu to dissolve/slide between the different era images.
This website is very cool for looking at old roads and the railroad lines. Unfortunately there are no aerial photos from the 50's, 60's, or 70's. But you can use the compare function to find reference points and situate yourself, figure out what you're looking at in the 1946 photos.
Enjoy.
