Speaking of the newsletter, if you received it last week, by all means PLEASE FORWARD it to anyone connected to Marin you know using that special "Forward To A Marin Friend" link at the bottom of the email (it preserves the formatting).
My thought is that the more people (present and former Marinites especially) around the world who learn about MarinNostalgia.org, the more nostalgia will be remembered and submitted.
I see that MANY people check out the site on a daily basis, which is fantastic. If you're a lurker, please don't be shy. Log in, create an anonymous handle, and leave a memory. It triggers others to do the same which is how new stuff ultimately arrives on the site.
Thanks again to everyone who's been writing and uploading!
I've just put you on the email list for the newsletter. For anyone else who would like to join, it's easy. Either email me a note at jason@marinnostalgia.org stating you'd like to join OR...
1) First, go to http://www.marinnostalgia.org.
2) Then, in the upper right hand corner of the screen you'll see a box that reads "REGISTER for the free monthly newsletter to learn when new photos and stories are added!" and a "JOIN" box.
3) You just type your name in that box and click the "JOIN" button. Pretty simple.
If you ever wish to be removed from the newsletter list, there's an Unsubscribe link on every newsletter. Just click it and you're off.
The email distribution list isn't used for anything other than the MarinNostalgia.org newsletter and is NEVER given out to any other party so no need to worry about Spam.
In an ideal world, the newsletters go out every few months.
Thanks to everyone for their continued posts and submissions.
There are still images and articles to come...I've just been extremely busy with the new baby, summer weddings, helping organize a 20 year high school reunion, and helping people buy and and sell homes. But some really cool material is definitely on the way.
I'm starting on the new newsletter (it takes a while for me to type up the interviews) and I'll also be updating the site with some new pics in the weeks to come. I've also got some appointments in the coming months with Marinites who may have some really interesting pictures to share -- so MarinNostalgia is alive and well!
Of course, if you or someone you know has a lead on some interesting images from Marin's recent (or not so recent past) please let me know!
Also -- if you haven't already, please sign up for the newsletter so you're sure to be informed when there's a major update!
