Thanks for asking! I'm writing a little book about the story of my "Mill Valley" song, and how it came to be a hit--because I keep getting wonderful letters which I want to include. If any of you have any stories or reminiscences about hearing the record, I'd love to hear them and maybe put them in the book! Thanks--Rita
I just came from the opening of the new adaptation of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, by Tam High's Drama Department (CTE). Nothing I've ever seen on stage has moved me more. Seeing this powerfully true story enacted by young people, and knowing that the lesson has still not been learned by too many today, felt like an important experience that should be shared by as many people as possible. Director Susan Brashear deserves major credit for bringing it to the school, and the community. I watched the awareness progressively dawn on the high school kids who were there, and could feel their consciousness and connection deepen as the play went on. So I strongly urge you to see it, and to tell your friends.
Concurrently, an equity production of the same play has just opened at San Jose Stage, so if that's closer to you, or you'd prefer an adult production, see it there.
