Wow, that means that they really didn't have an enrollment to keep it going because it was a pretty big school with three wings. I guess all the kids in the nearby Eichler houses grew up and moved away. More of the shifting demographics of Marin.

It was used as a daycare center in the late 70s to early 80s.

Yes I remember Hartzell school, when I was in Regional Occupation Program taking landscaping class we did some work at Hartzell school, I think we built some raised planter beds out of redwood & planted trees.Mid 1970's.

Does anybody remember the Oliver Hartzell School? It was an elementary school in Terra Linda that has now been replaced by a condo development. I went there in the late 60s, early 70s and was just wondering if anybody else recalls it. I guess attendance went way down and they couldn't justify the expense so it was demolished some time in the 80s.
