enjoyed the clip of Mr. Kaufman. That's how I knew him. folks were

friends of theirs, I went swimming in their pool up at the top of

Evergreen in the woodlands, maybe it was crown or phx road, but right

at the top of Evergreen, turn left. bingo. I think John was the

eldest, he must be maybe 63 now. He had two sisters, Andrea, who had

special needs, and the other, youngest, can't remember her name but

she was beautiful like her mother. Can't recall her name though either.



The ladies store was successful and then he opened the men's store

across the street but not quite directly. My folks bought lots of

my clothes there. Really nice stuff came from there,more

conservative,but that was the time.



The Kaufman family was gracious and very nice people. I knew him

enough to speak with him as a kid and he was most kind. Kids don't

forget that kind of thing.



My mom gave me his book years ago. Really, one of the people that

gave early Marin a lot of class.
