I think it was just a statement for the kids that were into driving fast cars and making skid marks on the road,(not in their pants).

I do remember that! I haven't thought about it for years and I didn't know it was unique to Marin. So what was the story? What did "skids" mean?

Remember when "SKIDS" was being written all over the walls and street signs of Marin? A MarinNostalgia user Jorge Gamboa writes "I knew who started it, Wally Hedrick" and sent in this copy of a Hendrick painting.
