For next month I'm working on a music-themed newsletter. If anyone has photos of ANYTHING related to music in Marin (Sleeping Lady, Lions Share, Pepperland, Uncle Charlie's, Sweetwater, Rose Bowl, any other local dances, etc.) this would be a GREAT time to send them in!

Thanks!

Jason

I used to walk right past the door person everytime I went to the Lion's Share. I was only 18,19-it was '69-70-71
We used to party so hard there! I saw and partied with Clover, Boz Skaggs, The Sons. on and on..
ALWAYS great music! o-mi-god I have the best memories! There was a guy named Howard? Hammerman and he broadcast a live radio show for KTIM from the Lion's Share upstairs in this little hidden loft room. He used to let me come in there and give commentary on the music and who was there groovin' ect.
Another stellar memory I have is of taking that Sandoz acid at Muir Beach when they had a clubhouse? there. It was a full moon. John Fahey and the guys were playing.
I was so stoned I started walking towards that moon right into the water and I remember my friends coming to get me out of the water and took me back inside and everyone lent me dry clothes to wear and we danced and danced and partied.

Best memories?
Sneaking into the Sleeping Lady in high school to see the Tazmanian Devils.
mid-80's - Uncle Charlie's, watching the John Belushi Memorial Blues Band.
later on...some killer blues jams at 19 Broadway.

Does anyone remember Van Halen playing at the Marin Veteran's auditorium in 1978? I remember their album had just come out, and I was supposed to go with a friend but she never got the tickets.

Beefy Red and Barley At The Hops at Lions Share...if we couldn't get in, we'd hang out by the back door parking lot where you could hear it all. The Sons played there, too. Pepperland was "groovy," all purple and all.

Anyone remember Pepperland? I have one of the original handbills from January 1971 - Pepperland was at the old Litchfield's on East Sir Francis Drake adjacent to Highway 101 north. That concert had the Youngbloods, Sea Train, Cold Blood, Boz Scaggs, Stoneground and John Fahey. I also remember seeing Janis Joplin, Joy of Cooking, It's a Beautiful Day there, too.

There was also a place on the Miracle Mile called the Lion's Share. We spent many Friday and Saturday nights there. I remember John Cipollina playing with Quicksilver Messenger Service. Those were great days for local rock concerts.
