I think the Mayfair was where Petco is now, not Whole Foods.

Mayfair Market...there were two in San Rafael, one at the Yardbirds and the other at the Whole Foods...they were open 24 hours before it was fashionable...The Embee market in Tiburon is what you are thinking of...there were and still are KFC's all over Marin

There used to be a Cala market about where California Pizza Kitchen is in Corte Madera. You seem to have a keen interest in the location of all of the old grocery stores.

San Rafael had two Drive ins: The Motor Movies where Marin Square is now on Anderson, (torn down in the early 80's), and the 101 on Smith Ranch Road in Terra Linda where the Regency Theaters are now.

What did the closed Yardbirds used to be originally in San Rafael?
Was the original Safeway in Novato Faire Center is where the Rite Aid is now?
When did the Pizza Hut turn into Starbucks in Novato? Also was there ever any KFC's, Arbys or Dairy Queens in Marin County?
Where were the old Safeways in Marin beside the one on corner of Bon Air and Magnolia?
Were there any original Albertsons or were they Lucky before and how many have closed? (Seems like alot)
What was Bell market in Fairfax? Always a Bell market or was it a Cala before that? How about The Cove Center Bell by Strawberry was it always a Bell Market?
Are there any pictures of what the Northgate Mall looked like before it was covered?
Did Marin ever have Drive In theaters?
